A partnership for the new season

For the new season of shows, Garage Duomo Padova and the Teatro Verdi have started a partnership. We are a short walk from the theatre, inside the ZTL of Padua's historic centre: a real advantage if you arrive by car and don't want to waste time looking for a space before the show.

Leave your car before the performance and take all the time you like afterwards: we are open until 1 am, so even if you stop for a drink or a stroll through the centre after the show, your car will be waiting, with no worries about closing times.

A historic theatre in the heart of Padua

The Teatro Verdi is Padua's main theatre, in the historic centre a few steps from the Cathedral. Founded in 1751 as the Teatro Nuovo by a group of Paduan noblemen, it was completely rebuilt in the 19th century to a design by architect Achille Sfondrini — who also designed the Rome Opera House — and reopened under its current name on 8 June 1884, in honour of Giuseppe Verdi.

With around 700 seats, it hosts drama, opera, concerts, ballet and productions for young audiences, and remains one of the city's cultural landmarks.

Who runs the Teatro Verdi

Fondazione Teatro Stabile del Veneto Carlo Goldoni

The Teatro Verdi is run by the Fondazione Teatro Stabile del Veneto Carlo Goldoni, founded in 1992 as an association and turned into a foundation in 2024. Based at the Teatro Goldoni in Venice, the Foundation also runs the Teatro Le Maddalene in Padua and the Teatro Mario Del Monaco in Treviso.

Recognised as a National Theatre by the Italian Ministry of Culture, it is one of the leading names on the Italian stage, with a programme combining great classics, contemporary productions and projects for young people and schools.
